Ferdinand...The Bull

After the Christmas mayhem died down we took a walk to feed the horses, Pinecone and Oreo, who live at Arc Ridge.  They have grown quite accustomed to whoever is staying at the ranch...whether it be us or my aunt showing up with a bag of apples every time we visit.

Audrey adores the horses and would love one of her own of course.  (Not gonna happen!!)

As, you can see...one of these things is not like the others!!

Can I get you a snack??

Gross!!  We have named the bull Ferdinand of course.  He is actually one of four in this corral with the horses.  We have named all four of the bulls Ferdinand...of course.

After the the slobberfest we took a long walk, and I actually got all five of my kiddos together...smiling!  I just love it!!!  Makes mama smile!!

Happy Holidays!!!
Love,
One Crazy Mama

We Can Make That!!!

We CaN MaKe THaT!

Girl, if I had a dollar for every time I said that... I would be OnE RiCh MaMA!!  Oh come on,  You know exactly what I'm talking about!  Your out shopping with the girls and they start going on and on about how cute some one of a kind "Blinged out Crafty Craft Treasure" thing is, and then it happens:  They just have to have it, and you look at the price and before you can stop yourself out of your mouth comes these words:
"Have you lost your flippin mind?!! You wanna pay how much for that?
Girl, We can make that!!"

(Now,  I am not knockin the "Blinged out Crafty Craft Treasure" items so don't be hatin.  I myself LOVE these items, and often fill a lot of my sleepless nights partakin in this indulgence.  Infact I tend to get a little wacked out and crazed if I haven't hot glued my fingers together in a while if you know what I mean.)

Anywho, I happened to open my mouth recently on our ladies weekend in Canton.  Now, I didn't count how many times I said it, but I think a fair estimation is 4, 362.  One particular item that caught our fancy were these blinged out guitars.  Have you seen them?  Stinkin cute!!!   You take old guitars gaudy 'em up and throw them on the wall.  There you have it!  ART!!!  Totally cute for a little girl's room.  Well, Lynn and Erin came over last week to bling out our guitars as Christmas gifts for our girls because:
Girl, We CaN MaKe THaT!!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Tis the season to decorate, and it is beginning to look a whole lot like Christmas around our house!  Come on in and have a look around....

There's Santa and Elfie keepin' a close eye on everyone.  Now, I'm not gonna name any names but some piles of presents may be dwindling as we speak if you know what I mean!  Uh huh!

As you can tell I have gone for a "more is more" approach this year.   Girl, if only those presents were real...I would be done.  Guess I better quit decorating and start shoppin!!!

My grandmother made this stocking for me when I was a little girl, and it is one of my most treasured possessions.

I would love to see how you decorate for the holidays.  Send me a link to your blog so I can check out your digs.  Kind of like a home tour...blog style.

Pioneer Woman in Big D!!!

Three Blondies and The Pioneer Woman

Tuesday night I left Hooterville in the freezing cold rain to meet two of My Girls, Becky and Lucinda, in Dallas for the signing of The Pioneer Woman's cookbook and dinner afterwards.  What a great evening; girlfriends, dinner in Dallas, and The Pioneer Woman...I could hardly wait!!!  Becky, Lucinda, and Tony (Lucinda's sweet husband) snagged us the coveted GOLD arm bands that morning which got us into the first signing of the evening!!!  Sweet!!

It only took us about an hour to get to the front of the line, and there she was.  Sweet as ever!!    I would have been nervous as heck...I read one report that there were approximately 800 people there!  Hard to believe!!  She chatted calmly and would sign as many books as you handed her...I had 5.  Not all for me...for friends around the hood!  Her girls were signing books as well and passing out T-Shirts.  I still can't believe how well mannered they were.  Just beautiful!  Lord, my kids would have been swinging from the chandeliers like monkeys at the zoo!  I would've had to slip them a little benedryl before the book signing if you know what I mean (wink! wink!)!

I read one blog that said they left the book signing at 1:30am.  I am so grateful for our GOLD armbands!!! If we had waited until 1:30am I'm afraid Becky might have looked like this

Hog Fest 09...SoooWeet!!!

SoooWeet!!  Feral Hog Festival 09...Ben Wheeler, Tx.

Well,  if you didn't take my advice in my previous post about Ben Wheeler, Tx. boy did you miss out!  First of all you missed out on this!

Audrey and I are all Pinked out for the crowning of the Hog Queen at the Feral Hog Festival!!  I know, I know kind of cute...now don't be hatin...you can get those tights at Target but, the dress darlin is my very own Prom Dress!!  Can you believe it??  SoooWeet!!!

This weekend was Ben Wheeler's 2nd annual Feral Hog Festival!  Did you know that they are the Feral Hog capital of Texas?  I don't know if I would be braggin about that!  Hmmm?  Anywho....
Friday night they kicked off the festivities with the the crowning of the Feral Hog Queen at Moore's Store Restaurant!  That place was packed!  The theme for this years Feral Hog Festival was Born To Be Wild!  And let me tell ya, judging from the pictures people took it to heart!!!  SoooWeet!!  There were people dancin, pigs squealin, everyone was goin hog wild!!! It was standin room only!!!

Each contestant competed in the talent portion of the contest, and let me tell you it was a tough choice for the judges.

These were the lovely contestants.  "Shakespiglet" in the black slacks recited "Ham-lish".  The "Tutued Piglet" sang a nursery rhyme.  The "Biker Piglet" sang a self composed song.  "Blue Jean Piglet" sang All I Want To Do by SugarLand.  "Teal Piglet" sang Amazing Grace.  "Miss Piglet" sang Crazy by Patsy Cline.
It was a tough choice but ultimately Miss Piglet was crowned Queen!

That's my dad!  Brooks Gremmels...Born To Be Wild!!!

The dancin' and  squealin' went on all evening!!!  Looks like Audrey has had enough!!  (No, those are not ALL hers!!)

The Feral Hog Festival and Hog Cook Off started Saturday with a parade through Ben Wheeler.

This little girl wrestled this piglet for a good half hour, but as you can see she finally took it down!!  Too cute!!

The Feral Hog Cook Off got started early Saturday morning, and I hear the judging was fierce!  The winning team went home with a beautiful a handmade knife, and a check for $800.00!!  SoooWeet!!

They had contests for the kids as well.  Pig chasing...or is it pig wrestling?  I don't know.  Anyway, they turned this pig loose in the pen with a group of the kids, and the kids had to retrieve the rope that was attached to the pig!  Too much fun...to watch!!

How about putting a Tutu on a pig?

This is how my children wrestle pigs!!  Go John Wyatt!!

Nice tail! (I especially like how Richard is checkin it out!!)

We had the best time! And I gotta tella ya...after the corn dog, funnel cake, homemade ice cream, turkey legs, and snow cones I was feelin a little like the Hog Queen myself!
